Concert Photos: Violent Femmes Brought the Punk to Cleveland on a Spirited 40th Anniversary Tour

Milwaukee-based '80s punk icons Violent Femmes brought their 40th anniversary tour to the newly-remodeled Temple Live venue last night and almost shook the 100-year-old building to the ground.

The 3,000-seat auditorium was packed and the audience was on its feet for the 90-minute show. The band played their self-titled first album in its entirety, starting off the set with their best-known tune "Blister in the Sun."

After finishing off their debut album, they segued into a spirited cover of Milwaukee alt rocker Voot Warning's "Dance, Motherfucker, Dance."

Offering up late-set hits "Black Girls" and "I Held Her In My Arms," the outfit closed with "American Music" and "I'm Not Gonna Cry."

Chicago-based Elizabeth Moen and her band were the openers. Originally from Iowa, the songstress warmed up the crowd with one hell of a voice. Keep an eye on her; she's going places.
